Safe withdrawal rate
The most you can take each month from your corpus: forever, or spending it down by an age you pick.
Take $3,164 a month, and it never runs out
3.8% of the corpus in the first year, rising 6% a year. The corpus grows 6% a year too, so it keeps its buying power.
Shown in future amounts. Turn on Today’s money to adjust for 6% inflation.

How this is calculated
Each month we take the withdrawal first, then grow the rest at the monthly version of a 10% return. The withdrawal rises 6% each year.
forever: C × (1 + i)12 − W × a = C × (1 + 6%)
spend down: largest W with a balance ≥ 0 after 30 years
spend down: largest W with a balance ≥ 0 after 30 years
Returns are assumed steady. Real markets swing, and a bad sequence early in retirement can break a plan that works on average: the Monte Carlo SWP calculator tests that.
